I would love to share my passion with you. I am an independent business owner creating modular furniture for the world. I want everyone to have access to my furniture, this is my passion and it is not about the money to me. I love creating and simply want to share with whoever is interested.
When I first came up with my cat furniture idea, it was because of the apartment I was in at the time. I had a problem and it needed a solution, my cats wanted access to our loft. It didn’t take me long to figure out I needed shelves of some kind. Since that initial creation, it has evolved into an entire system that I continue to update. I absolutely love creating useful furniture
that improves the flow of a space, the vibes of a room, and the functionality of a wall. There is way more usable space in a small apartment than some people realize or are able to take advantage of. I aim to help everyone change that!
My cats, plants, and I all personally use every piece of furniture I have created so far. Every piece comes from my heart and is a continuous project that I will always work to improve and add to.
My modular system is designed to give cats a play area that is out of the way, beautiful, and always interchangeable. I have designed house furniture as well that brings you and your cat’s areas together in a good way. As well as your plants, which most cat owners know how hard having plants in the house can be. Everything works together to keep you, your cats, and
your plants happy!
The challenges
All business’s face their own challenges of the current economy. Challenges are always changing, its just a matter of adapting to face those challenges. There are so many challenges different business’s can face it’s hard to speak to a specific one. My personal biggest was learning to finding your market with the most honest pricing. For me it is selling my furniture at the lowest price possible without selling myself short of what I believe my time and my product is worth. I do not have the expectations to become rich off of my business, I simply want to enjoy what I do. Personally if I was in business to make more money than I need, I would find something else that truly fulfills me and pursue that. My happiness
comes from building furniture that hopefully helps someone live a more comfortable life.
The opportunities
There are always opportunities out there. Its a matter of patience and staying dedicated. The biggest factor is your personal definition of success. Challenges or not, you will find a way if its a true passion. It may be more challenging now than in the past to start up, but it’s never impossible. Stick with it no matter how impossible it seems if you truly have a passion for it. If you can’t, it may not be your true passion. I’m not saying that you can get through anything if you’re pursuing your true passion, but you will never give up and you will always come back if it’s your life’s calling. It may not come as fast as you expected or with your current
definition of success. My opinion of success is am I happy? Not how many sales I could have gotten. As long as you pursue that happiness and focus on your passion you can be successful, it’s simply a matter of expectation.
Starting
There are so many things you can learn to market yourself and your business. This will not be easy, but it’s because of the love for what you do that you power through the pain of the learning process. You can find success without an advanced marketing strategy, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t put yourself out there. My advice for when it gets hard is to remember why you even started. For me it was the pain of knowing I am meant to do more with my life than a retail job. I can bring a value to society that exceeds the
work I produce at my retail job. I enjoy my retail job and there is nothing wrong with that being what you want to do. But if you have that same feeling as I did, I think it’s time you give it your all and pursue that passion. It won’t be easy, but looking back on your life, you will have wanted to have the courage to start.
