What Beautification Means

Beautification is the process of enhancing beauty. A client’s beauty can be restored and enhanced by cosmetic procedures like dermal fillers, skin rejuvenation, and botulinum toxin injection.

Having a youthful look is refreshing, and youth is associated with beauty. Over the years, various cosmetic methods and products have been developed to help attain and maintain a youthful look. Clients cannot stop aging, but they can lessen its signs.Collagen is a protein found in connective tissues, skin tendons, and cartilage, maintaining skin structure and regeneration. Scars and exposure to UV light can also increase the rate of skin aging. Some clientsmay want to improve their facial features or reconstruct congenital anomalies.Keep reading to learn what beautification means and how to enhance beauty.

What Is Beautification

Beautification is the process of enhancing beauty. Human beauty is characterized by skin and face symmetry. The beauty of skin is associated with youth and prominent facial features. Clients can beautify their faces using skin rejuvenation, dermal fillers, and botulinum toxin injection. Cosmetic doctors or aesthetic practitioners do beautification.

Method of Beautification

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are gels injected under the skin tissues for cosmetic purposes.Haney (2020) suggested that  Hyaluronic acid, the common dermal filler, enhances beauty by smoothing wrinkles and fine lines, improving volume, plumping thin lips, redefining the jawline, and filling hollow eyes and scars. Gao et al. (2021) noted that dermal fillers like polylactic acid could trigger collagen production. The dermal filler procedure is not painful, but patients can initially feel discomfort. After injection, the treated area appears stiff and fuller because the fillers have not settled. According to Diwan et al. (2020), it takes two to three weeks to notice the full results of dermal fillers.

Witmanowski, H., &Błochowiak (2020) revealed that dermal fillers could last three to 24 months, depending on the type used. Fillers wear off because of metabolism and lifestyle. Patients can maintain dermal fillers by hydrating more often and redoing them after a few months. Wollina et al. (2020) showed that dermal fillers are safe with minor side effects like bruising, swelling, and pain. Abo-Hedibah et al. (2021) noted that complications with dermal fillers are rare, but patients can have an infection, allergic reaction, or asymmetry if done by an unqualified cosmetic doctor. Dermal filler’s cost depends on the type of filler.

Skin Rejuvenation

Skin rejuvenation is “peeling” off the old skin to give it a youthful glow. The skin “records” every constriction made from smiling to frowning. Theconstrictions become visible when aging because of low collagen.Trak & Chauhan (2022) revealed that skin rejuvenation removes wrinkles, sunspots, and fine lines, minimizes facial veins, relieves redness and rosacea, and improves acne spots. Skin rejuvenation methods are microneedling, chemical peel, laser resurfacing, and microdermabrasion

Microneedling

According to Juhasz& Cohen (2020),microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is non-invasive. Zhao et al. (2021) noted that collagen decreases wrinkles and fine lines. Patients need a downtime of at least two days and frequent moisturization.

Chemical Peel

According to Starkman& Mangat (2019), a chemical peel involves using Alpha Hydroxy Acid for a light peel and Trichloroacetic acid for a medium peel. A chemical peel improves uneven, visible sun damage and discoloration. You will need at least ten days to heal from the peel.

Laser Resurfacing

According to Klein et al. (2021), laser light is used to remedy facial flaws like wrinkles, birthmarks, and acne marks. The energy from the laser stimulates collagen production. Carbon Dioxide and Erbium are the common types of laser resurfacing.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion improves fine lines, blemishes, and sunspots. Microdermabrasion efficiently treats deep cleanses and exfoliates the skin, and the dead skin cells are polished away. Diamond tip and crystal microdermabrasion are the common types of microdermabrasion.

Intense Pulsed Light

Intense pulsed light resembles laser resurfacing, but it uses many wavelengths to hit targets, unlike laser resurfacing, whichstrikes one target at a time.

Botulinum Toxin

Botulinum toxin injection is a cosmetic injectable wrinkle muscle relaxer. Botulinum toxin injection is common among male clients. According to Small (2014), botulinum injection relaxes muscles causing wrinkles, and helps smooth fine lines onthe eyebrows, nose, lips, jawline, and neck. Botulinum toxin injection costs depend on the location of a cosmetic doctor. Pero et al. (2018) claimed that Botulinum toxin injections are safe, but patients can experience side effects like bruising, headache, nausea, redness, and temporal face weakness. There is no downtime or recovery time for botulinum toxin injection. It is recommended that patients avoid touching or massaging the treated areas; this can cause the botulinum toxin to dislocate.

Frequently Asked Questions about Beautification

What Are the Common Processes for Skin Beautification?

Dermal fillers, skin rejuvenation, and botulinum toxin injection are the common processes for skin beautification. Each of these processes has different results and mechanisms.

How Long Do Beatification Processes Take?

The beautification processes do not have a uniform time for every client. The time taken by each client will depend on their requirement and the extent of the treatment.

Do Beautification Processes Have Downtime? How Long?

Some beautification processes like dermal fillers, skin rejuvenation methods and botulinum toxin injection do not have downtime. Lin & Christen (2020) suggested that the downtime for any beautification process is at least a week.

After How Long Do I Need to Undergo Skin Beautification?

Depending on the method, clients can redo skin beautification after a few months. Consult an aesthetic practitioner to advise when to redo skin beautification.

Conclusion

You cannot stop aging but lessen the signs. The skin records every constriction on the face; these constrictions develop into wrinkles when collagen drops in the body. Beautify or restore the skin’s glow using a dermal filler process, skin rejuvenation, or botulinum toxin injection: these processes smooth wrinkles, fine lines, sunspots, and stretch marks. Dermal fillers can restore lost volume due to medical conditions and medications. These processes are safe with minor side effects. A qualified aesthetic practitioner should beautify skin, and any product used in these processes should be bought from the aesthetic practitioner.
