Dermal Fillers

How Much Do Nose Fillers Cost?

You can transform your nose most naturally without undergoing any surgery. A nose filler treatment can enhance the appearance of your nose without any permanent commitment. Keep reading to learn more about nose fillers’ costs, benefits, and side effects.

Until recently, there were not so many options for people who wanted to modify the appearance of their noses. The only way was the traditional surgical rhinoplasty. Modern medical procedures have advanced and non-surgical procedures are also coming into play. Nose filler treatments are non-invasive and less risky. Results are instant and can last for 6 to 12 months. Compared to surgical rhinoplasty, the cost of nose fillers is cheaper. However, the cost of nose fillers is determined by factors such as the type of fillers you choose, the experience of your provider, and the location, among other factors. Besides, it is not complicated. The procedure takes approximately 15 minutes to be completed.

What Are Nose Fillers?

Nose filler, also known as non-surgical rhinoplasty or non-surgical nose job, is a procedure that involves injecting fillers into a nose to enhance the appearance of a nose. Baser et al. (2021) suggested that the nasal filler procedure modifies a nose’s shape for at least 6-18 months. Nose filler treatment is ideal for patients who want to smooth out nose bumps or make their nose look less angular. Nose fillers are ideal for those patients who are not ready for a permanent commitment from a surgical procedure. A dermal filler injection is certainly less complicated than a surgical procedure. Besides, nose fillers are less risky.

How Much Do Nose Fillers Cost?

Nose filler treatment is a cosmetic procedure, and insurance does not cover it. Unlike a surgical nose job, no medical condition will make a cosmetic doctor recommend the procedure to a patient. Nose filler costs vary depending on factors such as your choice of filler, the cosmetic doctor’s experience, geographical area, and the number of injections a patient need. The cosmetic doctor always gives a detailed cost breakdown during a consultation to let a patient know what to expect. According to Zhang et al. (2020),the cost of nose fillers lies between $600 and $1500.

Why Do People Get Nose Fillers, and What Are the Risks Associated with Them?

Nose fillers are good for making small changes to the shape ofa nose and overall appearance. Lam & Duc (2021) stated that some patients use nose fillers to reduce the appearance of nose bumps or make their noses look straight. Others choose nose fillers to correct results from an initial surgical nose rhinoplasty. The procedure also works well for patients who want to lift the tip of their nose and make it more prominent. Unlike traditional surgical nose jobs, nose fillers cannot reduce a nose’s size but can add volume. According to Lorca (2018), the main indications for non-surgical nose procedures are correction of the nasal septum, the elevation of the nasal tip, and approximation of the nasal wings. Patients choose nose fillers because of the following benefits;

  • The procedure takes a short time
  • Instant results
  • Jung (2019) stated that Nose filler results could last up to 12 months
  • No permanent commitment like in the surgical procedure
  • You can reverse the changes if you don’t like the results
  • Swelling and bruising are rare
  • It is cheaper compared to a surgical process
  • Recovery time is short

Side Effects Associated with Nose Filler Treatments

Most Common Side Effects

  • Swelling
  • Bruising on the injected area
  • Fever
  • Nausea
  • Redness

Less Common Side Effects

  • Blurred vision or loss of vision
  • Filler migration
  • Tissue death
  • Vascular complications
  • hives

Cons of Nose Fillers

  • swelling and bruising may prolong
  • They are not permanent and require regular appointments to maintain the desired effects.
  • Long-term effects are not fully studied since the procedure is still new to the market.
  • The wrongly done procedure may result in more adversecomplications, such as blindness.
  • They are not covered by medical insurance

According to Gutierrez (2020),”product selection is vital for the prevention of complications, as a large number of cases of blindness derive from fat transfer techniques, and in case of a vascular occlusion affecting the retina, there is only one hour to recover blood circulation before the retina suffers permanent damage.”

Nose Filler Aftercare Instructions

Many patients are mostly concerned with the post-filler signs after the treatment. However, there is much a patient can do to minimize common post-filler signs such as bruising and swelling to recover quickly. Goodman et al. (2020) advised that patients should avoid using any blood thinner at least 2 to 3 days before and after having nose filler treatment.

How to Manage Bruising and Swelling

Lin & Christen (2020) showed that after the nose filler procedure, a patient might experience swelling and bruising, which is normal. A patient can minimize these through a hot compress. Soak a clean cloth in hot water and wring it out. Place the cloth over your face, particularly your nose, to absorb the hot steam. Alternatively, you can generously apply arnica cream on the injected area before bed. It minimizes bruising.

Things to Avoid After Nose Fillers

Philipp- Dormstorn et al. (2020) advised patients to avoid touching the injected area for at least 12 to 24 hours after the procedure. Wash your face gently with clean water and soap. Apply no makeup after the filler treatment.

Until the initial bruising and swelling subside, avoid exposing the injected area to intense heat. Avoid hot tubs, sunbathing, hot showers, and solarium immediately after filler treatment.

Do not wear glasses (sunglasses or medical)until you heal. This is because the nose pads of your glasses can pressure the injected area and migrate the filler or disrupt the healing process.

Avoid intense workouts or any strenuous activity. It worsens bruising.

Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications. They may prolong bruising.

Conclusion

The amount required to achieve your goals of modifying your nasal features lies between $600 and $1,500. The cost varies depending on certain factors, such as your choice of filler product, the number of injections you need, the experience of a cosmetic doctor, geographical location, and the type of filler. Nose fillers can create moderate changes and maintain a natural appearance of nasal features. Besides, the procedure is quick, usually less than 15 minutes. Contrary to the surgical procedure, the results of nose fillers are temporary. They last for 6 to 12 months. Like any other procedure, nose fillers have mild side effects such as swelling and bruising. Other less common complications include tissue death, blindness, and vascular complications, which are caused by a wrongly done procedure. Ensure you get your nose filler treatment from a certified and reputable professional to avoid future complications.
